Adding YouTube Video to Web Site

Q. Do you know anything about adding a YouTube video to a website?


A. If you want to communicate with your website visitors, adding video is a great way to do it. Assuming you have created a video and placed it on YouTube (or found one already there that you’d like to share) adding it to your website is super easy.

Here’s how:

1. Open the web page file where you want the video to show up. For your home page,this would be the “index” file. You’ll be adding HTML code so you need to click the HTML tab within your website editing program.

2. In your web browser, go to the YouTube site and click the video that you’d like to add.

3. On the right-hand side of the page you’ll see code for tags, URL, and embed. Copy the embed code.

4. Going back to your website editing program, paste the html code where you want the video to appear on your page.

5. Preview it to make sure the video has been placed where you want it. Save your page and publish.

That’s it… now go have fun!
